What does it cost?

Tradies keep 100% of their advertised rate. Builders pay the tradie's rate plus a 10% TradieLoop admin fee, shown before you pay. There are no subscriptions or listing fees.

Do I need an ABN?

Yes. Every account is verified against the Australian Business Register so builders know who's turning up on site. Tradies also upload insurance, and licences where the trade requires one.

How does a booking happen?

A builder posts a job or sends an offer to a tradie. The tradie accepts, counters or declines. Once accepted, the builder pays through Stripe and the booking is locked in — both sides get a text with the details.

What if a tradie doesn't reply to my offer?

Accepted Answer

The tradie is reminded after 1 and 2 hours. After about 3 hours you get a text suggesting you pick another tradie. Offers expire automatically after 24 hours and you can re-send with one tap.

Can I cancel?

Yes. More than 24 hours before the start, cancellations are penalty-free and the builder is refunded in full. Inside 24 hours the cancellation is reviewed by the TradieLoop team, who may apply a rating penalty (down to 1 star) to whoever cancelled; a builder cancelling late is refunded the tradie's rate but not the 10% admin fee. If the tradie cancels, the builder always gets everything back.

When does the tradie get paid?

The builder's payment is held by Stripe. It's released to the tradie the moment the builder signs off the end-of-day form. If the builder goes quiet, it auto-releases 24 hours after the scheduled finish — the builder is texted 4 hours beforehand so they can sign off or raise a dispute.

What if the tradie doesn't show up?

The builder reports a no-show. Funds stay held while TradieLoop reviews it, then the builder is refunded. Two no-shows and a tradie is removed from the platform.

What happens in a dispute?

Accepted Answer

Either side can raise a dispute (or flag an issue on the end-of-day form). Payment is frozen, TradieLoop reviews both sides' notes and chat, and either releases to the tradie or refunds the builder. Both parties are texted the outcome.

How do tradies receive money?

Through Stripe Connect — a one-time bank setup from your profile. Released funds land in your bank on Stripe's standard payout schedule (usually two business days).

Why do I have to rate after every job?

Ratings keep the marketplace honest for everyone. A star rating is required after each booking before you can pay for or receive a new one; a written comment is optional.

Is my data safe?

Data is hosted in Sydney, Australia. Passwords are hashed, card details never touch TradieLoop (Stripe handles them), and you can turn on two-factor sign-in from Settings.
